Passing of our Prophet

It is with great sorrow that tonight I announce the passing of our prophet, Gordon B. Hinckley. For those of you out there that do not know, he was a prophet called of God just like those we learn about in the Bible, such as Moses, Noah, and Abraham. He holds a special spot in my heart because he was called as prophet just a few months before Steve and I were married. If you are interested in knowing more about his life and his many accomplishments, I invite you to visit this site or ask me any questions you may have:
Gordon B. Hinkley

I would like to take this opportunity at the time of his passing to let you know some of my beliefs. I believe in a true and loving God, that His Son Jesus Christ was born, lived here on the Earth and died for our sins upon the cross. I believe it is only through believing this actually took place and then repenting of our own sins that we are able to return and live with God. I believe in the Holy Ghost, that He is the witness of both the Father and the Son.

I believe the Lord has blessed us with a prophet here on the Earth for our day, not just for the people living during Bible times. We will soon welcome the new prophet the Lord has prepared for us. The most fascinating thing to me about receiving a new prophet is that we are each as individuals invited to pray and ask God if this person is His prophet here on the Earth. We don't have to just accept who is presented or take someone else's word for it, we can each pray and receive our own answer from God. God has answered my prayers, I know that Gordon B. Hinckley was His prophet on the Earth. I am thankful for the service he gave throughout his life, in carrying out the work of the Lord. I pray for the comfort and peace of his family at this time and for all those that mourn his death.
